The dogs were going crazy, barking aggressively, this morning. The wind was blowing, the trees were swaying, the leaves were moving, the cats were running around, the shed was creaking, loose items were banging in the trailer, they might have seen a spider... and the dogs were beside themselves. But, did they alert me that we had hay delivered? Not that I know of. Of course, I may have been in the basement and not heard them, but I'm sure the neighbors for miles around heard their complaints about the wind... sigh.
I am watching the grandkids. They are watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Mickey and his friends are building a bird house and someone said: Tweet tweet.
A tune immediately came to mind, but I couldn't remember any other lyrics than tweet tweet. So, I asked Google what that tweet tweet song is. Several showed up in the search results, but the one that I was looking for was several result down.
I then asked Bob the exact same thing I asked Google and he knew exactly which one I was thinking of without any other hints. (He said Rockin' Robbin) Bob is smarter than Google!
Thankful to be home and recovering... and so looking forward to this phase of life to be over!
After 9 consecutive months each with two weeks of bleeding and each month getting harder to bounce back from, I decided to inquire about prescription medication to lessen the flow. I consulted two online doctors (ForHers and Nurx) who both agreed that I should be nearing the final phase of menopause, should see a gyn if things get worse, but progestin should help. Before my medication arrived, I was needed to watch over my grandbabies while my oldest recovered from a tonsillectomy.
While I was busy enjoying the grandkids, Bob was busy with house projects. He did the paneling in the kitchen last year, but there was a fist size hole in the corner of the ceiling along with cracked and disintegrating sections above the vent. We thought it would be a good time to take care of it while I was gone so that the dust wouldn't get to me. Bob said after all was said and done that the dust probably would not have been a problem, but the smell of one of the sealers would have chased me out of the house for awhile. He even took a sample to the hardware store to get an accurate paint match. You can barely tell where the repairs are - it is super awesome!
He also replaced the plumbing under the bathroom sink, secured the sink to the wall and tightened the toilet bolts.
The next indoor project will be hanging around 50 decorative plates. I'm so excited!
I am feeling spoiled this morning... I was able to sleep for 7 uninterrupted hours last night - no needing to go to the bathroom (and not be able to go back to sleep), no timer to tell me that someone needs checked on, no dogs barking, no cats needing attention... It was the first time in weeks I've gotten that many hours of consecutive sleep (even before going to watch the grand kids)! I still needed a short nap after Bob went to work, but I am doing good now.
Then, I was dreading going outside as it is cold and windy and I am still feeling weak, but the neighbor delivered a round bale of hay sometime this morning (that will feed the horses for 10 days or so) and now I don't need to go out yet. at least with the cold, I won't feel like I need to get the barn clean right now
Now, let's see if I can manage making some progress on my newest website project...
While watching the grand kids, I related to Bob how frustrated I was to have to be the "drill sergeant" - I wasn't feeling the best and was growling and demanding that they do as they are told. It was a battle. I have never liked it and am not good at it. He told me that I am not a "drill sergeant". Instead, I am an Empress. You know, it was a small change, but it really did make a difference in my attitude. I took a deep breath and no longer felt the need to growl out orders. In return, the kids were far better at actually doing what needed done. On top of that, I really like the title "Empress" far better.
All the boys are enjoying the deck this afternoon: Bugs (orange - farthest away from the group), Little Helper (orange), Skitterbug (white and grey tabby), Dusk (grey), Fang (black) and Supervisor (sharpening his claws). The girls are enjoying the enclosed porch
I think I am feeling better. I have had a headache most of today, but it seems to be letting up. Yesterday, though, I told Bob that it felt like my spirit had been disconnected and has now returned after a long absence or, at least, suppression. Yesterday, was also the first day in two weeks that I haven't had a wave of needing an immediate nap at random points in the day.
The kids and I bought Bob a costume for Christmas. He finally put it on for a picture last weekend (of course, I haven't used my Christmas present either, but hope to feel up to it soon... it has something to do with horses...)
Anyone recognize Who he is supposed to be?
Hint: remember, we are sci-fi fans...
Our cat litter has been delivered!
I wasn't able to go out to meet the delivery person like I normally do but I think they were very thoughtful bringing my bucket to the door.
Now, if only I could open the door enough to retrieve said bucket as it is just far enough away to open the door enough for an arm to reach out but the bucket acts as a door stop and will not budge.
ok, so it is a little inconvenient to have to walk out the back door and around the house or to wait for someone to come home to bring it in, but I still find the delivery person thoughtful for walking the extra steps from the edge of the deck to the door. Don't you?
Bob has introduced me to an old, not sci-fi TV show called Friends. We've been streaming it from the beginning because I like to watch things in order (the story line is too confusing to me otherwise).
Well, this episode came up with the guy named Ross dating an absolute slob. They opened the door to the apartment and I shuddered at the mess. Thankfully, Ross couldn't handle the mess either and found an excuse to leave. But, he went back! With me going no, no, no, no..... Ew! Noooooo!
After they broke up, his sister, Monica, says she heard about the apartment and couldn't sleep. Could she come in and clean?
I said, oh dear! I'm like Monica! Bob hesitantly says, yes, he could see me doing something like that.
Here is a clip: The Stuff That Keeps Monica up at Night
if you're going to dream, may as well dream big! I mean, that is, with the Lord's blessing, how we managed to scrape together enough to move here! So, Bob would like to have another muscle car (he had one at some time in the past) and since we're pinning it on the dream board he'd love a purple one!
Of course, we may need a smaller tractor (you know.... a riding lawn mover with a loader) that I can actually operate first... since we're dreaming...
In other news, I am finding it fascinating how many friend requests I am receiving as a life coach when it seemed that I was avoided as a network marketer. A title change seems to change people's initial view of me just like the color of my hair. Fascinating.
